How A Photograph Is Taken

There are many function of a camera for example a focus which is the adjustment to place the sharpest focus where it is desired on the subject. an aperture which is the adjustment of the lens opening which controls the amount of light passing through the lens. Aperture also has an effect on depth of field and diffraction. Shutter speed which is adjustment of the speed of the shutter to control the amount of time during which the imaging medium is exposed to light for each exposure.
a camera uses these functions in order to take a photograph, the diagram shows how the light is reflected and captured to create the image.

What Is Light?
  Light is electro-magnetic radiation. It travels in the form of waves which then becomes visible to the human eye.
Colours form as white light is dispersed by a prism in the electromagnetic spectrum. The electromagnetic spectrum is the range of all possible frequencies of electro magnetic radiation
